Porcelain Paper

A series of tests were conducted to determine the capability , workability and strength of the material. In many cases, paper models were fi rst used to plan the form. After firing, the material takes on a translucent quality and is hard but delicate.

Transforming this into jewelry required the attachment of a second material that could hold up to human touch.

The porcelain paper was cut by hand, and by laser. Its flat shape is folded and manipulated to produce form and the material is connected to itself with a clay slurry.

The pieces are then fired to cone 10 at 2335 deg.
